The purpose of this training is to provide you with an introduction to applied behaviour analysis (ABA) including an overview of the principles of ABA and the ABA interventions for autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Coursework involves dyadic instruction provided by Dr. Tyla Frewing, BCBA-D, video examples, and quizzes for each module. The course will take approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete. The course will cover the following topics:

  • Confidentiality and Professionalism
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • ABA Therapy
  • Assessment and Teaching Strategies
  • Basic Behavioural Principles
  • Schedules of Reinforcement
  • Motivating Operations
  • The Discrete Trial
  • Prompting and Prompt-Fading
  • Data Collection
  • Generalization and Maintenance
  • Addressing Challenging Behaviour

Total running time of video instruction is 3 hours and 52 minutes, including 25 video examples. 

Please note that this training alone does not qualify you to work with individual children with ASD. It should be a part of a comprehensive training package that includes in person, hands-on training from a Board Certified Behaviour Consultant.
